Salina Business Hall of Fame
A program designed to honor prominent
business leaders, both past and present, who have made extraordinary
contributions to Salina.
Mid-America Farm Exposition
The Expo has
grown to become one of the largest Spring Farm Shows in the Midwest.
Over 350 exhibits are on display representing approximately 300
companies from around the United States.
The Expo attracts over 10,000 people each year.
Kansas All Breeds Junior Dairy Show
The show is co-sponsored by
the Agriculture Division of the Chamber and the Kansas Dairy Association,
in cooperation with the Central Kansas Research and Extension.
Leadership Salina
A program sponsored by the Chamber and designed to develop competent community leaders. The purpose
of the program is to make participants aware of the issues,
challenges, and opportunities facing this area and inspire them to accept
the responsibility of providing the leadership necessary for the continued
progress and development of the community.
Junior Leadership Salina
The program, in its 19th year, is open to all Junior class members in
Saline County high schools, St. John’s Military School, and home school
students. Topics include Chamber of Commerce; Education; Local
Government; Business; Quality of Life; and Leadership Skills.
Dennis and Don Do My Job
Dennis and Don visit Salina Area Chamber of Commerce member businesses and commit
to performing entry-level job duties as a way to help that business promote
their services.
Member Appreciation Fridays
The Chamber takes pride in promoting your business. Every Friday, the
Chamber staff will wear any polo, long-sleeved, collared shirt, or sweater
provided by our member businesses.
Chamber-NET
An inexpensive direct mail marketing service promoting your business or
organization.
School to Career
A program designed to be an inclusive program and build partnerships.
Students participate in work-based experiences designed to enhance the
learning experience.
Candidate Forum
The Chamber and League of Women Voters sponsor a Candidates Forum for Salina
City Commission and USD 305 School Board Candidates during March. Two
sessions are held. The format of the forum consists of opening remarks
by each candidate, questions from a media panel, questions from the
audience, and closing remarks by each candidate. A Candidate Profile
on each candidate is provided. The forum is free and open to the
public.
Legislative Conference Calls
The Chamber will participate in weekly Legislative Conference calls with The
Kansas Chamber during the 2008 Legislative session. The calls are designed to
update local Chambers, keeping them informed on key business issues being
discussed in the statehouse. The calls will run from 10-10:30am, beginning
in January and continue each Friday through April. Members are welcome
to join us at the Chamber office during these informative calls.
Legislative Issue Meetings
In an effort to keep area citizens informed on state legislative activity, the
Chamber hosts a series of Legislative Issue Meetings with our local Saline
County Legislative delegation. The first meeting is in February.
The format of the meetings consists of questions from the audience, and
closing remarks from the legislators. The meetings are sponsored by
AT&T and are free and open to the public.
