Visit Salina

Right place. Salina...a blend of 'big city' amenities and relaxed 'small city' charm. Located in America's heartland at the crossroads of I-70 and I-135, Salina is right in the center of it all! The Visit Salina staff at the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce can help you plan a great weekend getaway, event, meeting, or day trip to Salina.

Right reason.
Whether you are looking for a quick getaway, doing some shopping, taking in a concert, theatre performance or sports event, your reason is the right reason to Visit Salina. Check out the exciting experiences we have in store!

The historic Stiefel Theatre of the Performing Arts has something for everyone, from the Salina Symphony (4/14) to national and international performers like comedian Lewis Black (4/12), author David Sedaris (4/19), and rock legends Chicago (4/22). The exciting new look of the Salina Community Theatre will certainly impress, as will the talent on stage. On the marquee - "Follies" (April) and "King of the Blues" (5/10, 11). Round out your entertainment with the NEW Salina Bombers Arena Football Team (4/12), ISIS Shrine Circus (4/19, 20, 21) and Christian rockers Audio Adrenaline (5/5) at the Salina Bicentennial Center!

Have you heard? The penguins are coming!  "Penguin Landing", a traveling exhibit of live penguins will open 4/20 in the Wildlife Museum at Rolling Hills Zoo, and be with us through the summer. Don't miss Them!

Art is everywhere in Salina, from galleries to exhibitions to an ecclectic public art collection. Don't miss our newest addition to the collection - "Dawn's Silver Lining" - welcoming visitors on S. Ninth Street near Schilling Road. Check out all the news about our upcoming Smoky Hill River Festival (June)!  Salina Art Center presents exciting contemporary exhibitions, and their Art Center Cinema features cutting-edge films every evening.  SculptureTour Salina's 2012 exhibition will come down 4/20, and the NEW 2013 exhibition of 26 pieces on loan from artists from across the country will be unveiled with a block party, Saturday, May 18 from 3-6pm.

Learn about the healing and relaxing properties of an aromatic (great gift basket idea!) at the Prairie Lavender Farm just north of Salina. Discover your roots when you explore the Smoky Hill Museum, and their current WWII exhibit, "Bonds, Bombshells & Babies", and don't forget the Yesteryear Museum and their ecclectic collection.

Salina is a great place to shop too! Whether you prefer to shop the anchor stores and national brands found at Central Mall and across town, or the more eclectic specialty shops Downtown and throughout the community, you'll find JUST the right thing in Salina!

Most getaways are only as good as the food...and our restaurants are the reason Salina was named "Best Midwest Food Town 2010" by Midwest Living magazine. From ethnic cuisines to locally grown to down home barbecue and Midwestern fare, Salina will satisfy your tastes. As you plan your visit, be sure to check out Salina's many accommodations, all ready to welcome you!
