Salina Area Chamber of Commerce

Right place.
Salina...a blend of 'big city' amenities and relaxed 'small city' charm.  Located in America's heartland at the crossroads of I-70 and I-135, Salina is right in the center of it all!  The Visit Salina staff at the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce can help you plan a great weekend getaway, event, meeting, or day trip to Salina.

Right reason.
Whether you are looking for a quick getaway, starting college, taking in a concert, theatre performance or special event, or spending time shopping and exploring, your reason is the right reason to Visit Salina.  Check out the exciting winter we have in store!

Salina is ALL ABOUT entertainment!  The exciting new look of the Salina Community Theatre will certainly impress, as will the talent on stage performing "Lend Me a Tenor" (January weekends) and "Fences" coming up in February.

The historic Stiefel Theatre literally has something for everyone this season, from the Salina Symphony to country crooner Dwight Yoakam (1/26) to classic films like "The French Connection" (1/29) and "Catch Me If You Can (2/2), the story of Frank Abagnale (as played by Leonardo DiCaprio).  Abagnale will be the guest speaker at the Chamber's Annual Meeting and Banquet at the Bicentennial Center, February 9. For ticket info, visit our homepage at www.salinakansas.org.

SculptureTour Salina was just unveiled last spring, and currently features 19 original sculptures on loan from artists from across the country. Visit, tour and enjoy - and plan to return this spring to see the NEW installation, beginning May 19. Salina Art Center present exciting contemporary exhibitions and their Art Center Cinema features nightly films. Two experiences await at Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure with both the zoo and wildlife museum ready to welcome you.  On the periodic mild winter day, tour lavender fields and learn about the healing and relaxing properties of an aromatic at the Prairie Lavender Farm just north of Salina.  The Smoky Hill Museum and the Yesteryear Museum will help you discover our roots!

We love sports in Salina.  High school basketball action takes center court the week of January 17 with the Salina Invitational Basketball Tournament.  X-Treme Gymnastics hosts the Live Love Invitational January 27-29, and the Kansas Kids Wrestling Federation Tournament of Champions hits the mats at the Bicentennial Center January 28-29.

Salina is a great place to shop too!  Whether you prefer to shop the anchor stores and national brands found at Central Mall and across town, or the more eclectic specialty shops in the downtown Lee District and throughout the community, you'll find JUST the right thing in Salina!  Most getaways are only as good as the food...and our restaurants are the reason Salina was named "Best Midwest Food Town 2010" by Midwest Living magazine. From ethnic cuisines to locally grown to down home barbecue and Midwestern fare, Salina will satisfy your tastes. As you plan your visit, be sure to check out Salina's many accommodations, all ready to welcome you!
