Military Affairs Council The Military Affairs Council (MAC) was established in 2009 and serves as the Chamber's vital link to local and regional military communities, fostering meaningful relationships between civilians and past and present service members. This bond is cultivated through a symbiotic partnership, where resources are shared, joint activities are embraced, and active participation in ceremonies and events is encouraged. Furthermore, the dedication of the council extends to supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for military personnel and their families. The council is comprised of dedicated individuals from diverse backgrounds in business, civic duty, and the military. Meetings occur monthly in the Visit Salina Annex, located behind the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce. Military experience is not a prerequisite for joining the council; rather, a steadfast commitment to national defense and unwavering support for our uniformed services is the only requirement.
Annual Armed Forces Day Golf Tournament
Held annually on Armed Forces Day at Great Life Golf and Fitness, this tournament pays tribute to men and women who serve across all branches in the US military, while also raising funds for the Salina Military Emergency Relief Fund.
Salina Military Emergency Relief Fund
Initiated in 2012 by the esteemed late Salina business leader, philanthropist, and Veteran, Charlie Walker, the Salina Military Emergency Relief Fund serves as a beacon of assistance for local service members facing hardship. This vital fund is sustained through generous donations and the proceeds from various MAC events. Salina Military Emergency Relief Fund Contributed money to a family with a child who is on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.

The Commanders Club is an exclusive membership organization that unites leaders from business, civic, retired, and active military backgrounds in engaging social settings. The featured annual event is the Commanders Club Dining Out, which serves as a focal point for camaraderie and networking. Additional activities may occur throughout the year. Business entities and individuals alike have the opportunity to join the Commanders Club. A portion of the proceeds from membership dues are dedicated to the cause of supporting the Salina Military Emergency Relief Fund.
