Overland Property Group and Flint Hills Holdings Group are excited to announce the official kickoff of Lee Hardware Lofts Phase II, a remarkable 50-unit affordable housing development in Salina, Kansas. This project represents the continued redevelopment of the Henry D. Lee complex, marking a significant milestone in the historic rehabilitation of the downtown area while addressing the pressing need for affordable housing options in the community. Lee Lofts Phase II is the result of successful collaboration between Overland Property Group, Flint Hills Holdings Group, the Community Housing Development Corporation of Central Kansas, Bennington State Bank, Redstone Equity, Inc., the City of Salina, and countless others. This innovative development preserves the historical significance of Salina while providing modern amenities and high-quality housing for individuals and families in need. Situated in the heart of Salina, the iconic Lee Hardware building has been meticulously designed by local architect, JGR Architects, of Salina to offer 50 residential units and over 8,000 square feet of commercial space. The development includes a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, catering to a variety of household sizes and needs. Construction is expected to begin with Kansas based General Contractor, MCP Build, in July. "We couldn’t be happier to announce the next phase of development in downtown Salina. Lee Hardware Lofts is a unique opportunity to bring such an important building to the history of the area back to life." said Austin Kack, the Developer for Overland Property Group. "We’d like to express our gratitude to all of our development and financing partners for making phase two a reality and thank the City of Salina specifically for championing affordable housing in the community. " The affordable units at Lee Lofts Phase II will be available to households earning up to 80% of the area median income (AMI). Through careful planning and the support of local resources, this development ensures that individuals and families facing financial challenges can access safe and sustainable housing options. Residents of Lee Lofts Phase II will benefit from an array of modern amenities designed to enhance their quality of life. The building will feature a community room for social gatherings, a fitness center to promote healthy lifestyles, and a secure playground for children. The commencement of Lee Hardware Lofts Phase II aligns with the continued dedication of Overland Property Group and Flint Hills Holdings Group to expand affordable housing opportunities while supporting further economic development in Salina. The project is expected to have a positive ripple effect, attracting businesses, creating jobs, and contributing to the overall prosperity of the community. “Overland Property Group has been fortunate to be involved with many key developments across the Midwest, but I can’t say many can top our excitement for the Lee Buildings in Salina because of it being our hometown.
